Get More Youthful Facial Contours Without Surgery in Dallas
Many signs of aging that appear on the face—like brown spots and fine lines—have nonsurgical solutions, but changes to contours due to sagging in deeper skin layers have historically required a surgical facelift, complete with incisions. Now, however, there’s a nonsurgical solution for mid-face drooping: Silhouette InstaLift™. Dallas-area patients who choose the dual benefits of this FDA-approved facial recontouring treatment at Dr. Ellen Turner’s office will first enjoy a lift visible just after treatment, then experience the ongoing results of gradual volume replacement.

Silhouette InstaLift™ works by creating more youthful contours from the inside out. Carefully placed threads lift the tissues, then secure them in place as soon as they’re positioned. These threads also provide a framework for new collagen production for longer-lasting benefits. This treatment is available only from licensed practitioners, such as Dr. Turner.
Silhouette InstaLift™ is a minimally invasive, non-surgical facelift in which a skilled medical practitioner uses dissolvable threads to precisely lift and tighten specific areas of the face. The threads are made of a medical-grade material that is often used as dissolvable stitches after surgery. As they dissolve, the threads will stimulate the production of collagen, plumping and tightening the skin further for a
long-lasting youthful appearance.
Am I a Good Candidate for Silhouette InstaLift™?
Patients who have mid-facial skin that has fallen with age are the ideal candidates for Silhouette InstaLift™. Dr. Turner and her team will assess each patient interested in the treatment to determine whether it is the most suitable option for providing the desired contours. Note that if a patient’s facial soft tissue is especially thin, the internal sutures may be easily felt or even visible, so a different strategy may be recommended after an initial consultation.
How Does Silhouette InstaLift™ Work?
This treatment involves the placement of special threads— technically known as “resorbable sutures with bidirectional cones”—in key areas of the midface. These sutures will reposition the skin, elevating it to a higher position. Think of it like a hammock that has started to sag over time due to the ropes holding it up no longer being taut. Attaching new lines to the hammock, pulling them tight, and securing them to a stable anchor will lift it once again into a higher position.
As with many sutures, the threads will hold the skin in place until they dissolve. Throughout that time, patients enjoying their repositioned contours will also be getting the added benefit of new collagen stimulation. The thread material encourages growth of the form-providing protein in the skin, which means the natural-looking lift can last even after the sutures themselves are absorbed by the body.
Added collagen also brings more volume to the midface, where age-related collagen loss can create harsh planes and hollows. Rounder, fuller lines give the face a more youthful look.

Silhouette InstaLift™ Treatment Details
At the start of a Silhouette InstaLift™ session, your skin will be marked to indicate ideal placement of the sutures. You will also receive a local anesthetic to minimize sensation in the skin during the insertion process.
The sutures allow for a customized experience for each patient, since the skin can be adjusted to its ideal position after the sutures are inserted, but before they are fixed into place. Once secured with bi-directional cones on the threads, the newly elevated tissues will remain elevated.
The process takes about 45 minutes and requires only minimal recovery time. Patients are recommended to wait to apply makeup until 24 hours after their treatment session, and to avoid vigorously rubbing their face for five days. Activities that involve excessive face and neck movement or exposure to sunlight and other sources of UV radiation should be avoided for two weeks.
Wait about four weeks before undergoing any further facial aesthetic treatments.
Dr. Turner’s office will provide you with a full set of posttreatment guidelines intended to maximize aesthetic results.
When Will I See Silhouette InstaLift™ Results?
Since the carefully placed sutures hold sagging skin up in a higher position, the initial results will be seen as soon as the treatment is finished. Some initial swelling and bruising may be expected, but as this resolves, the long-lasting contours will be apparent.
Skin-supporting structural collagen is encouraged to grow over a process that can take weeks, extending the look after the threads dissolve. In some cases, the results have been known to last for up to 18 to 24 months.

Are There Other Options for Facial Contouring?
Dr. Turner works hard to ensure her patients are informed about the choices they have in their efforts to get a more youthful look. While Silhouette InstaLift™ is ideal for making changes to the deep layers of the midface skin, other cosmetic problems related to sagging can be addressed by Voluma®. This injectable member of the Juvéderm® line adds volume—and thereby roundness—to the apple of the cheeks, which also lifts skin to keep it from sagging lower on the face and forming jowls.
Patients also interested in addressing a double chin can get results from Kybella®, an injectable that allows for the breakdown of unwanted fat cells. Getting rid of a look of submental fullness can complement a firmer, more youthful look higher on the face, whether from Silhouette InstaLift™ or another treatment available from Dr. Ellen Turner.
