InstaLift™ Firms Sagging Skin Without Invasive Surgery
Want to give your flattened, sagging, or generally “non-existent” butt a more sculpted and shapely appearance? Silhouette InstaLift™ treatments aren’t just for drooping facial skin! They can also be used on other areas for body contouring, such as a non-surgical butt lift. The Dallas area’s Dr. Ellen Turner and her team can use InstaLift™ to help patients address sagging skin and re-shape their buttocks without having to undergo more invasive, surgical gluteal augmentation procedure—and endure its extended recovery times.
Results of a non-surgical butt lift are noticeable, lasting, and natural-looking, because the treatment not only elevates sagging tissue, but also encourages your body to build structures that hold the tissues in place long-term.

What Causes Your Butt to Become Flatter Over Time?
There are two main reasons why someone’s butt can lose its natural shape and full look, prompting them to consider a non-surgical butt lift: loss of muscle tone and depletion of collagen in the skin.
Skin everywhere on the body contains the essential protein collagen, but production of the important protein slows as you get older, which is why tissues become thinner and droopier. The loss of collagen makes skin less able to “hold up” against gravity, so it tends to slump downward along with the fat sitting beneath the surface. For many people, this results in buttocks that are no longer as firm and smooth as they once were—a change that can start in a person’s 30s, give or take a few years.
Sometimes, you may have extra fat that clings to the gluteal muscles, making your butt look less taut than it could. Genetics can also make you predisposed to having a smaller, flatter butt. Toning up your glutes on your own at the gym can be difficult, because while you may bulk up the muscle there, you can’t spot reduce fat in the area. Also, once the skin is stretched out by excess fat, it can no longer easily bounce back to its former tight fit against the underlying contours if the fat goes away.
Whether you want to restore your butt to its former, perky shape or improve your natural curves, a non-surgical butt lift can be a convenient and effective way to address collagen and fat loss.
What Are the Benefits of a Non-Surgical Butt Lift?
A non-surgical butt lift with Silhouette InstaLift™ is an innovative method for improving the shape and roundness of the butt area without some of the hassles associated with other techniques, such as implants and liposuction. These options can require large incisions, scarring, anesthesia, or a considerable recovery time. As a modern, non-surgical butt lift technique, the Silhouette InstaLift™ threads elevate tissues to a higher, more aesthetically pleasing position. It’s a simple way to restore a more lifted, plumper-looking butt without scarring, it provides results that are visible right away, and patients can resume their daily activities as soon as they’d like after the procedure.
One of the reasons why so many patients prefer having a non-surgical butt lift over other treatment options is because it alters the contours of the buttocks in a subtle and realistic-looking way instead of creating exaggerated and obvious changes. Giving your butt some lift can also make the rest of your body seem more proportional and your legs look longer.
A non-surgical butt lift can further serve as an alternative for patients who don’t have enough fat on other body areas to use for fat transfer to the buttocks.
The butt lift procedure is versatile and can provide various benefits for different patients. For example, the threads used in a non-surgical butt lift can provide lift from the top, but they can also be anchored horizontally or diagonally to treat the banana roll area which is located just under the butt.
A non-surgical butt lift also has benefits for more than just butt shape. In addition to adding lift to elevate the butt, a non-surgical butt lift can also provide some improvements to the tone and texture of the skin. The internal threads stimulate collagen growth to help the skin appear smoother and more volumized. This can also have the side effect of improving the look of stretch marks and cellulite. Furthermore, since the non-surgical butt lift threads eventually dissolve in
the skin, the body will naturally produce nitric oxide as a result, which increases blood flow. This contributes to a glowing, healthy appearance.
How Does a Non-Surgical Butt Lift Work?
The FDA-cleared Silhouette InstaLift™, which is what Dr. Ellen Turner uses for a non-surgical butt lift, is a breakthrough thread lift technique that involves placing a series of dissolvable, barb-like micro-cones beneath the skin’s surface to elevate and reposition skin in select areas. These sugar-based cones that are derived from the same material as medical stitches provide support to hold up the skin and are eventually absorbed, so they won’t need to be removed later. The non-surgical butt lift procedure is not very different from a thread lift for the face, except the threads that are used for the butt are stronger.
A non-surgical butt lift has the dual benefit of not only firming up the skin in a noticeable way, but also encouraging the skin to gradually produce more of its own collagen in the deeper layers as the treated area heals. That collagen will provide lasting structure and support after the cones dissolve.
A non-surgical butt lift treatment session typically takes less than an hour, meaning it’s less consuming than traditional surgery, and most patients only experience some mild soreness after.
Who is a Good Candidate for a Non-Surgical Butt Lift?
The best candidates for a non-surgical butt lift include patients who are in a good overall state of health without a history of bleeding conditions or other health conditions that can increase the risks of cosmetic procedures. If you have a low body fat percentage and are not a good candidate for cosmetic surgery that involves a fat transfer to the butt, a non-surgical butt lift may be the better option for you. A non-surgical butt lift will usually be best suited for candidates who are younger and are experiencing early signs of aging skin rather than those who have excessively loose skin due to age, rapid weight loss, and other factors.
A non-surgical butt lift may produce the best results for a patient who is in good shape and at an ideal weight. Note that it’s not a replacement for having good muscle tone. The threads in a non-surgical butt lift can tighten loose skin but they won’t be able to lift a substantial amount of excess fat. On the other hand, patients who are significantly underweight and don’t have much fat on the lower body may not be ideal candidates for a non-surgical butt lift.
Many patients use a non-surgical butt lift as an adjunct therapy that they combine with other procedures to enhance the buttocks. They may choose another type of procedure to add volume to the buttocks first before having a non-surgical thread lift to further improve the shape and smoothness of the butt.
Non-Surgical Butt Lift Results and Recovery
Patients can get right back to their typical activities after a non-surgical butt lift. Mild side effects—such as bruising, swelling, and tenderness—may occur during the first few days, but these usually resolve quickly on their own. Dr. Turner will advise you to avoid strenuous gym workouts for a few weeks after a non-surgical butt lift, which is a minor trade-off for results that can last for up to two years.
Which Procedures Complement a Non-Surgical Butt Lift?
Aging, gravity, pregnancy, and weight fluctuations among other factors can contribute to a loss of skin laxity on the face as well as the body. There are several types of non-surgical cosmetic treatments available to lift and tighten loose skin on the face and body. Along with a non-surgical butt lift, Dr. Turner’s Dermatology Office also offers Silhouette InstaLift™ for facial recontouring and correction of drooping in the mid-face. A non-surgical breast lift is also available for patients who want to reposition their breasts to a higher position on the chest area and create a perkier appearance with a subtle lift.
For further enhancement of body contours, Dr. Turner provides a range of fat and lax skin treatments. Emsculpt Neo combines electromagnetic technology (HIFEM) with radiofrequency (RF) to stimulate muscle growth and reduce below-the-skin fat as a way of toning the abdomen, arms, buttocks, thighs, calves, and more.
